THE DESIGN CHALLENGE
The objective of this project was to redesign an underperforming advertisement for an existing brand, College Pizza. The goal was to improve visual impact, audience connection, and overall effectiveness while maintaining brand recognition.
The redesign needed to better resonate with the brand’s core audience of college students and communicate value, energy, and convenience.
THE APPROACH
• Repositioned the advertisement to directly target college students by connecting the product to student lifestyle.
• Developed the headline “The Ultimate Study Buddy” to create relatability and memorability.
• Applied bold, high-contrast colors including red, yellow, and black to convey excitement, appetite appeal, and urgency.
• Introduced subtle green accents to suggest freshness and ingredient quality.
• Selected clean, modern typefaces such as Helvetica and Lato to maintain strong readability while keeping a casual tone.
• Composited two stock images, blending lighting, texture, and depth to create a cohesive and appetizing focal image.
• Adjusted color balance and contrast to unify elements and strengthen brand identity.
THE OUTCOME
The final redesign presents a more dynamic, student-focused advertisement that aligns with College Pizza’s target audience. Through improved visual hierarchy, stronger color strategy, and cohesive compositing, the ad delivers a clearer message and stronger emotional connection, resulting in a more engaging and market-ready promotional piece.
